Understanding Your CRS Score

Your CRS score is calculated based on four main factors:

  • Core/Human Capital Factors: Age, education, language proficiency, and Canadian work experience (maximum 460 or 500 points)
  • Spouse or Common-law Partner Factors: If applicable, your spouse's education, language skills, and work experience (maximum 40 points)
  • Skill Transferability Factors: Combination of education, foreign work experience, and certificate of qualification (maximum 100 points)
  • Additional Points: Provincial nomination, Canadian education, job offer, sibling in Canada, French language proficiency (maximum 600 points)

The CRS score range is from 0 to 1,200 points. The minimum CRS score required varies with each Express Entry draw. Recent draws have seen CRS cutoffs ranging from 450 to 550 points, though this fluctuates based on the number of candidates in the pool.
